Centro Recreativo La Barceloneta

Este proyecto nace de la necesidad de generar más espacios recreacionales al noroeste de San Juan, Puerto Rico e impulsar el beach tennis y la industria hotelera en este sector de la isla.

La principal dificultad del Lote venía dada por su condición alargada y estrecha de apenas 30 metros de ancho y 150 de profundo, lo que obligó a generar una estrategia de ocupación a modo de recorrido lineal, el cual permite transitar las instalaciones de norte a sur, esta estrategia permitió optimizar la configuración del programa para desarrollar el proyecto por etapas y aprovechar las zonas más altas del lote para aprovechar las visuales hacia la playa y el hacia caño tiburones.

This project is born out of the need to generate more recreational spaces on the northwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico and boost the beach tennis and hotel industry in this sector of the island.

The main difficulty of the lot was given by its elongated and narrow condition of just 30 meters wide and 150 of depth, which forced us to generate a strategy of occupation as a linear route that allows the transit of the facilities from north to south. This strategy allowed us to optimize the configuration of the program and develop the project by stages, taking advantage of the higher areas of the batch to exploit the views towards the beach and the Caño Tiburones bay.
